| 講義概要 | This course not only introduces the students to the basic concepts, theories, and issues in the field of International Relations in order to understand globalization and world politics but also pays particular attention to the issues of ethnicity, gender/sexuality and uses them as primary categories of analysis for interpreting global experiences. We will also discuss how we can tackle various contemporary global issues. この授業では、国際関係学の基本的な理論や枠組みを学び、現在のグローバリゼーションや世界情勢について理解を深めるだけでなく、エスニシティやジェンダーといった視点を通して、グローバル社会を考察し、どのような解決策があるのか模索する。基本的には、英語で授業を行うが、授業の終わり15?20分程は、日本語での授業の振り返りを行う。 1. | その他特記事項 | 【学習到達目標】 This course has three main aims: 1. to develop and broaden students’ understanding of international relations; 2. to analyze the world politics from the perspectives of ethnicity and gender/sexuality; 3. to give students the analytical and English language skills needed to examine global issues. 【履修上の注意】 This course requires students’ active participation and collaborative work. Therefore, weekly participation is required. Students are responsible both for attending each class session and for participating in lively and informed discussions and debates. If they miss five classes, they automatically fail the course. 【事前事後学習】 Please complete reading the assigned readings before coming to class. There is a quiz at the beginning of each class. After each session, please download the PowerPoint slides that are used for the lecture for your own review. |
